Position Overview

As a Senior IT Support Engineer, you will provide expert 2nd/3rd line support to internal and external users. You’ll troubleshoot Microsoft 365, Windows environments, network and hardware issues, and work both remotely and onsite across our Cambridge-based client sites. You will also contribute to infrastructure enhancements alongside our senior engineers and IT managers.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver 2nd and 3rd line support for Microsoft 365, Windows 10/11, desktops, applications, and networks

  • Manage and resolve escalated tickets in ServiceNow, Freshdesk, or Zendesk

  • Support Office 365 suite (Teams, SharePoint, Exchange) and onboarding of new users and devices

  • Perform remote and hands-on troubleshooting across hardware, software, and network issues

  • Conduct site visits to customer locations as required

  • Maintain and update IT documentation

  • Assist in infrastructure improvement and CRM-related projects

 

Qualifications

Required:

  • 3–5 years of experience in 2nd/3rd line IT support (ICT, MSP, sysadmin, or infrastructure engineering)

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365, Windows 10/11, and Active Directory

  • Familiarity with ticketing systems such as ServiceNow, Freshdesk, or Zendesk

  • Full UK driving licence and ability to work onsite within a 1-hour commute

  • Eligibility to pass a DBS check (sponsored by the employer)

  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills with fluency in English

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with Azure AD, Intune, Group Policy, and SharePoint

  • IT certifications (CompTIA, Microsoft, ITIL)

  • Basic networking skills (DNS, DHCP, VLANs) and an interest in cybersecurity

  • Experience working within the education sector
